A Drive

The traffic light.
Green makes me blind.
It makes me fight
And urges me and tugs
To strain beyond my might,
To sweep under the rug
My sense of wisdom.
It feels me with emotion
Brings me closer to the edge.
I enter into the eye of raging storm
To see that it shines Red.
The weakening sensation of betrayal
And unrelenting, empty drive
That makes me want to dive
Beyond and into the wildest dreams.
"Forget it!", its sarcastic coldness screams.
And I forget, as I stay still.
I let the urges and the edges go.
The feeling of acceleration is no more.
I am where I began,
Exhausted,
Panting,
Sweating freely.
I realize that Red
Is not so bad.
I change the lanes to coast
And cherish what I have.
I realize that I am kneeling...
